We dumped BofA last year after they pulled credit lines from small/medium businesses after taking TARP money. We closed out three accounts and 15 years of business, and the woman didn't even blink. She just let us walk out the door with a big check.

Now, you can't get more than .08% in a savings account and credit cards routinely charge 25%.

Of course, if you pinned down the BofA CEO at a cocktail party, he would insist it's all Obama's fault because he pushed through financial regulation.

As soon as peer-to-peer financial networks are set-up, these banks are done.

Since I've got obstructive sleep apnea, I tend to fall asleep at the wheel after camping. I can remember fighting this tremendous urge to doze off on Westbound 4, which gets kind of exciting right before you hit level ground at Copperopolis. Loads of twists and turns that still couldn't keep my eyes open I'd heard they'd built it up the town and that it was gross. Terrific stories here--great reading Linda--

What a treat to have seen you and now hear the rest of your tale. And such inspiring words - you are lovely. After I saw you I had more good shopping success then danced till I dropped at 5am.

I'm meeting the mantra man for a three and a half hour healing on Friday. What a Santa Cruz moment.

Big hug till next time,
Lisa

ps.
You really must find your way to that rave sometime. I may be forced to descend upon you, armed to outfit you with the proper gear and supplies. Watch out.

Loved reading this. I love that kind of Saturday night serendipity where you have absolutely nothing to do. We had it last weekend and ended up at a similarly welcoming pub, The Albatross. No blaring music, loads of board games, bowls of popcorn. Believe it or don't I still haven't got that Crumb yet, but I'm getting it before the week is out...
